I have written the last 10 days in a row and have met wonderful fellow writers here in town, but some of my other responsibilities have gone by the wayside.  It’s procrastination on my part and that it’s hard to do both writing and everything else sometimes, and it’s that I’m getting to old to be superwoman anymore.  But, writing is priority numero uno.  I will get it done very early tomorrow so that I can focus on my work cases early enough in the day to get a lot done.  That’s the plan, Stan.

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
― Ernest Hemingway

One of my favorite quotes.  Or, these days it might be sit down at a computer and cry.

I’ve got tomorrow’s scenes all set, so if I can just not procrastinate half the day away, I can get my writing done first thing in the morning so I can get to my day job.

Yay!!!  1609 words today. I have to think about what I’m going to write about tomorrow so I can visualize it before going back to the keyboard again tomorrow.  My story line got a little out of order, so I’m a little confused.  I’m in a forward moving pattern, so no going back and changing the order of things in this draft.

I took a little time to brainstorm what I should write next.  I have it for tomorrow and will continue to visualize.

I’ll check back with my progress tomorrow!

I am sitting here on the couch with my computer in my lap and a glass of wine on the side table next to me.  I will post when I am done with my word count.  I am going for a minimum of 1500 words.  The scene I am going to write is where the protagonist is about to autopsy the killer’s most recent victim.  It is an intraoral gunshot wound, which usually indicates suicide.  The detectives are on their way over to attend the autopsy because they found some interesting things at the scene.  One of the detectives who comes to view the case is the protagonist’s ex-boyfriend, whom she just had a nasty break up with.

I can’t decide what I want my protagonist’s name to be.  It has been:

1.  Goldie Roth

2.  Dara Golden

3.  Elise Golden

It has to be a Jewish name (part of the story).  I was told that “Goldie” wasn’t a strong enough name.  Too cute.  Too Goldie Hawn.  Somehow Gold has to be in either the first or last name.  Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Murrwulf (Lee Ann)

Hi, all.  Writing can be a lonely business.  I am about 3/4 of the way through the first draft of my first novel.  Whether you’re on your 1st or 5th novel or whether you’re on your 1st or 5th draft, we all need support.  Let this site be your support to write daily.
